Community First Responder
To become a Community First Responder you will undergo a comprehensive first aid training that covers basic life support, the use of a defibrillator and oxygen. Following your training course you meet up each month the team to have on going training. All training is delivered by the Ambulance Service.
Currently the training is 5 days long held over 2 1/2 weekends and has a small cost of £30 to cover administration fees.
Anyone can become a Community First Responder but you must:
+ Be physically fit.
+ Agree to have a criminal record check.
+ Have a full UK driving licence and use of a car.
+ Agree to undertake training and complete course work.
+ Able to provide a minimum of 10 hours a month on call.
+ Have a caring nature.
